A New Generation of Aligners

NiTime™, rebranded as AirFlex™, has a patented HyperElastic™ polymer that straightens teeth with half the standard wear time.

Unmatched Efficiency

NiTime aligners are the only FDA-cleared aligner system that straightens teeth with only 9 to 12 hours of continuous wear-time, without increasing treatment duration.*

Enhanced Comfort

The innovative HyperElastic polymer is designed to deliver 8.4 times less loading force compared to traditional aligners.* With gentle, optimal forces applied to teeth, patients feel almost no discomfort.

Predictable Results

Designed to keep treatment on-track, AirFlex’s HyperElastic polymer utilizes sustained ideal force delivery, supporting natural bone tissue remodeling to compensate against day-time relapse.

4X Greater Fit Range

Effortless Compliance

The aligner maximum amount of deflection before yielding represents its compliance range. The AirFlex aligner yield point is 25%, which is half an order magnitude more than the current industry standard aligner (5%). This difference means that there is at least 4X greater fit range for the AirFlex aligners.*

8.4X Less Loading Force

Gentle, Optimal Forces

During the loading phase, gentle forces are vital and help spare the immediate shock of pain on initial aligner insertion. The OrthoFX AirFlex aligner loading force of 147 g-f is approximately 8.4X less at 5% deflection from the industry standard aligner (1,243 g-f).*

Groundbreaking Aligner Technology

Sustained Force Delivery

The relationship between force delivery relative to tooth movement distance for AirFlex aligners is hyper-elastic or non-Hookean from 0 to 25% (to less than 0.025mm).* This means the forces available to move teeth stays independent of distances to move until nearly the end of the treatment journey. Conversely, with the industry standard aligners, the forces available for delivery after starting out excessively, drops very quickly relative to distance (0.15mm) and lack enough energy to complete the tooth movement journey effectively.

Designed for compliance, backed by science

When technology aligns with biology, the extraordinary becomes possible

AirFlex aligners are designed with favorable cellular physiology, fostering an ideal environment for biological tissue remodeling. The groundbreaking technology results in a high-performance aligner system, whose innovative polymer structure is shaped into separate shells, creating the first HyperElastic aligner. With favorable cellular histology in mind, the HyperElastic polymer promotes the optimal generation of osteoclasts and osteoblasts. This supports bone tissue remodeling at a more natural pace, allowing teeth to move gradually and precisely to their destination.

Flexible Inner Shell

The adaptable inner shell accommodates up to 4 weeks of random teeth movement, addressing relapse and eliminating the need for refinements due to unseating issues.

Firmer Outer Shell

The firmer outer shell compresses air, gently guiding teeth toward their intended position with consistent and gentle movement, ensuring predictable outcomes.

Predictable Performance

The innovative HyperElastic polymer demonstrates an astonishing 89% predictability, nearly eliminating the need for refinements throughout the entire treatment.*
